The Swedish Yacht Club aro challengers for tlio America Cup. INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. The Court statistics for the quarter show a decrease in the number of persons charged and convicted uf oifences conected with the supply and receipt of liquor. Sixteen persons were convicted of drunkenness. Five other offences were directly traceable to drink, whilo ten prohibition orders were issuedi as against 32, 20, and 8 respectively in 1906. In refernce to a telegram from Auckland re the probable sending of a Dominion team of bowlers to Australia, it should be stated that it has been already privately arranged to send a team of about 30 leading players, representing Wellington, Christchurch, Waimate, Oamaru, Dunedin, Gore, and Invercargill to Victoria, and N.S. Wales next April. MASTERTON, Tuesday. At an inquest held this morning concerning tho death of Stanley Allen Hanson, who was killed by a dray falling on him in the Borough paddock on Monday evening, tho jury returned a verdict that deceased met his death by accident, no blamo being attachable to anyone.
