T. fii A UCK LAND, Tuesday. mo following passengers and crew iif the wrecked steamed Kia Ora were taken to Knwhia to-day:— Mrs Cox, Mr and Mrs Kavanagh, Mr Lastridge .Messrs Baggstrom and Lister (engineers), do Wolff (mate), tfobinson (second mate), Miss Kellar (stewardess) Petorsen (chief steward), de Kolk (cook s boy), Johnson (cabin boy), and and Andrews, A.B. Going overland, Barraclough, Hirdson nnd Lush walked to Kawhia. Mr and Mrs Mclntosh and two children went overland. Kinohaku, a Maori pasenger. I is staying at Shearer's farm. _, Later. -the survivors of the Kia Ora who ovnved at Kawhia yesterday were scantily clothed, and mostly badly hurt Mr Lester, second engineer, has broken a bons in his right foot. Mr Baggstrom, dnef engineer, was severely bruised having been caught in the rigging and dragged under when tiie steamer went down. Mr Paitridge, a passenger hadone leg broken, his back hurt, and h© sustained internal injuries. Mrs Cox acred 76 years, was badly cut about tho fa<-? and is suffering severely from Hardship and exposure.
