THE STRIKE ON THE RAND. [United Phess Association.— Copyaioax.] (Received June 15, 8.53 a.m.) CAPETOWN Friday. In an interview with Mr Botha, mine owners offered to leave the strike dispute in the hands of the Mine Commission, but they refused to discharge the newly-engaged men. They intimated that upwards of 1000 men must remain stranded. Sir Outhwaite is going to England to raies funds. Mr Botha warned the deputation that it was impossible to keep troops in the Rand indefinitely, but he was unwilling to withdraw them during the strike.
