THE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION IN THE NORTH.
: AUCKLAND, Monday. Mr G. Fowlds, Minister for Education, to-day visited Helcnsville for the purpose of formally opening the new bath-house at the hot springs there. A large number of visitors from Auckland attended. The supply is said to be permanent and the medical qualities undoubted. Government assistance towards erecting a caretaker's house and beautifying the grounds was asked for, and the Minister gave a very sympathetic reply. He believed that a very great tourist traffic would develop, and ho thought the Tourist Department would take over the Springs.
