CORRESPONDENCE.
THE ANGLICAN JUBILEE.
To the Editor
Sir, — Will you allow ma, through your columns, t,i ask the managers of the Chu'.-ch of flnt^ljvncl Jobllee Commemoration in Nelson by what policy thjy are acting in overlooking the claims of the Anglican choirs? Fcr I see by an advertisement thst the singing on Thursday evening is not to b? don-s by the recognised helpers of tho churches — I mean by people who have devoted so much time to the rendering of the services in our churches. No ! These have to sink into a secondary place in order t3 give the members of a local musical society the chief place in celebrating the jubilee of the Church of England. I shoud say it is a slight put upon the members of our choirs and is ■ not i consistent with the principles of the Church of England in asking strangers and people who do not belong to that church above the heads of those who have faithfully helped the Church service so much. I question if in any other town in New Zealand such a state of things would be tolerated ; and I wonder if the othor churches (besides tho Anglican churches) in Nelson would allow the same thing? I am, etc.. ANGLICAN.
