THE SAN FRANCISCO ROUTE. (Received i 0.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, Thursday. The "Sydney Morning Herald," urging the importance of maintaining the San Francisco majl service, says : "By means of the improved service the Union Company is perpared to offer, we can trade with Vancouver and continue to connect with San Francisco without entailing much difference per cent, in tho volume of trade. If the moral of the suspension of the Oceanic monopolised service is that we must learn to rely on ourselves in the matter of the Pacific mail service, then we must help the Union Company to strengthen the Vancouver line.
