A PROSECUTION AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, Thurs. A lad, under the age of 15 years, was before tho Police Court this morn-
ifig charged with smokirig cigarettes. The station sergeant said the boy evidently knew he was doing wrong, for he ran away, and when caught gav<« a wrong name. ''Why did you do thai? 7 ' asked the Magistrate, "Because I didn't want my mother to kttoW." The Sttttioil sergeant Said that Smoking by boys was becoming a very common practice. His Worship discharged the lad with a caution on the under- . standing tjiat his parents gave him a good thrashing. '
