TROUT AND RIVER POLLUTION.
A PROSECUTION THAT FAILED. [United Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Friday. In an actioi brought by the Accliina™*atl,on Society against the Bruce Woollen Company for putting mill refuse into the Tokomariro River, thereby injuring fish, Mr Cruickshank, S.M.. after referring to the low state of the streams of the district caused by the summer drought, held that how trout on the day in question came to die had not been satisfactorily explained, and he could not say that any discharge from the company's mill had killed the Ssh. The information must accordingly be dismissed.
