MASONIC.
SOUTHERN STAR IC -\ NO. 735, E.P. The installation of Pto Percy Bond, W.M.-elect of Fouthern Star Lodge, No. 735, took flace at the Masonic Hall, Collingwood-street last evening. The gathering of brethren was the largest (for such an occasion) for many years, arid included visitors from Lodge Victory No. 40, Forest Lodge No. 116, Lodpre Motueka No. 117, and other outside Lodges. Wor. Bro. Charles Leaper acted as Installing Master, and Wor. Bro. Pryor as Director of Ceremonies. The investitures of officers was done by Wor Bros. S. F. Bolton, T. Mant, and E.' Richards, and the working tools were presented, and the various addresses given by different P.M.'s. An orchestra, consisting of Wor. Bro. J. H. Finney (organ), Wor. Bro. J. Graham (clarionet), Bros. Cleland (cornet), E H Martin (violin), McMillan (flute), and H. Lamb (trombone), provided the music. The following officers were duly invested :— I.P.M., Wor. Bro. E. Richards ; S.W., Bro. R. Glossop ; J.W., Bro. E. Fleming ; Chaplain, Wor. Bro. E. Fleming ; Treasurer Wor Bro. S. F. Bolton ; Secretary, Bro. J. MeEachen ; S.D., Bro. C. Lamb j J.D., Bro. W Fieldes ; Director of Ceremonies, Wor Bro. W. Pryor ; Organist, Bro. J. H. Finney ; Stewards, Bros. G. L Slevwrght and H. Walker ; 1.0., Bro. K. M. Phin : Tyler, Bro. W. Pellew. At the conclusion of the ceremony the brethren sat down to a cold collation, when a short toast list was gone through. Recitations and songs and musical items were rendered, by the brethren.
