He stated definitely at the Conference with the mon that the trou'blo was over so far as he was concerned, and ho would let the' matter drop. Tn reply to a telegram sent liy Mr R'osscv. the Union Secretary, tho Premier wired : "Your telegram re Tram Company putting: on unlicensed men, etc., to* h a'nd. Halve' referred matters to the Labour Department. (Tho matter is to bo specially watched in the interests), and safety of the travelling public. No inexperienced men should bo allowed to undertake such duties." This morning 1 Mr Rosser wired to Sir Joseph 'Ward as follows :• "Tramway strike ended satisfactorily to the Iraon.
