M According to a local scribe, one of the most striking features about the coaching of the College boys (Christchurch) by the Australian coach Bannerman is the stress he lays in placing the field. After watching the effect the onlooker rea j lises how good fielding ranks as high as gcod bowling or good batting. Mr J. Butler of this city is leaving the employ of Mr Squires, dentist, and intends to lean^e for Brisbane during the firet -wjeek in February to enter into the dentistry business with his brother there. .'•• Jim's" name is a household word amongst local cricketers, and he will ever be remembered for his useful coaching amangs'fc the junicrs. No doubt he will be giiven a fitting send off. &
