In the cricket match Lord Hawke's team v. 22 of Wairarapa, on resuming after the luncheon adjournment Wairarapa made a very poor stand) and the innings was a mere procession. Four wickets were down for 7 runs, 7 wickets for 14 1 runs, and when sixteen wickets were I down 5£ was recorded. The local team's innings closed for 119, and the Englishmen thus won the match by an innings and 91 runs. Bowling analysis: Hargreave, 6 for 25 ; Thompson, 8 for 27 ; Burnup, 3 for 33; Dow&on, 1 for ; Bdsanquet, 2 for 19. The visitors left for Wellington this evening.
