PRESENTATIONOF MEDALS.

There was a large attendance at the presentation of war medals to the returned soldiers. The men were drawn up on the lawn of the Parliamentary Buildings, and the surroundings were crowded. Their Boyal Highnesses drove up punctually at noon, and received hearty cheers. No time was lost in getting to work, and the medals were presented almost as fast as Colonel Penton could call out the names, 311 being handed to the recipients by the Duke, who wore the uniform of the Irish Fusiliers. Nurses Monson and Warmington, who came last, received three cheers, and a running fire of applause was kept up during the whole ceremony. Trooper Is organ, of Hokitika, who had rendered some service to Prince Teck during the campaign, was preeentr ed to the Duchess of York. Jnst as the Royalties had left a rain squallj came on, and drove the crowd indoors.
