THE DRY WEATHER AND THE CROPS.

Tho weather here is still very dry, the paddocks having a parched look. It is said lhe hop crop this year will be very light, and that picking will consequently not last so long as usual. All othercrops (cereals) havo so far turned out very well, though the raspberries will suffer somewhat owing to the drought. The fruit crop up to now is certainly good, both in quantity and quality, and there are indications that at no distant date this industry will assume larger proportions, and fruit will be the staple product of this district. We already, I believe, have the credit of being the largest eggproducing place in tho colony. That is, according to area, and it is more than likely we shall soon have a similar reputation in connection with the export of fruit.
