NARROW ESCAPE FROM FIRE. ' [United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Tbis Day. " Tne Times ' says tbat the Parliamentary Buildiugs had a narrow escape fiom being burned down on Thursday morning. Tho woodwork behind one of the fireplaces ignited, but the outbreak wns detected by one of the librarians. It caused some trouble to extinguish. It is thought that the fire was due to the brickwork being displaced by the recent earthquakes, and instructions have been given to overhaul all tbe chimneys in the Buildings early next week. There was also a small alarm owing to a tarpot boiling 'over and singing a wall.
