ASSUMING ADMINSTRATIVE CONTROL. LONDON, November 7. Reuter's Agency announces tbat it has received authoritative information that the statement of the Earl of Selbourne, Parliamentary Secretary to the Colonial Office to the effect tbat tbe Government contemplate throwing open the Royal Niger Company's territories to allow trade, indicates the ossumption at an early date of more direct control, and either the withdrawal of the Company's charter or a separation of the trading from the administrative function of the Company.
