THE NO-CONFIDENOE DEBATE.
LIKELY TO LAST TILL WEDNES. DAY. .THE BANKING INQUIRY A FAKCE. (From our Special Correspondent.) Wellington, This Day. The no-confidence debate ia to be continued in tbe House of Representatives to day and an effort to bring it to a close this evening will be made. In view, however, of the large number of members who have not yet spoken, it does not seem likely that the debate will end before Wednesday night at the earliest. The proposal that the House should adjourn for a week in order to enable tbe Banking Committee to push on the investigations does not appear to meet with favour. Members are beginning to look upon the Banking inquiry as a farce, and are not inolined to waste their time hanging rouud Wellington doing nothing, while the Bank Committee spend their time in needless wrangles and squabbles.
