[United Presa Association.] Timaru, This Bay. The Eev C. E. Beecrott, Wesleyan Minister, while visiting flic Hospital yesterday, had a lit and was put to bed in the Hospital. He is v>ell again this morning and will return home to-day. He has been woi king very hard lately, and had physically run down. lhe Baby Farming Case. Verdict of Guilty. [United Press Association.] Inveboaboill This Day. Mr Justice Williams in gumming up in the Dean case occupied two hours and a half. Generally the charge -was adverse to the accustd. The Jury retired half past twelve and in half an hour returned witb a verdict of guilty, when asked if she had anything to Bay why sentence should not be passed, Minnie Dean rose and in a fiim, clear voice answered, "No, I have only to thank detective McOrath for bis kindness to me." ' His Honour then assumed the black cap and passed sentence of death which the prisoner received with perfect composure, and she stepped oui of the dock apparently the least concerned person in a orowded oonrt. - —
