The Unemployed.
[United Press Association.] CinsiSTOiiuitcii, April 27. This afternoon about 200 men out of work waited on the Hon Mr Heeves and nsked for employment. Mr Beeves promised to find work under the alternative system on the east road about 33 miles from Stratford, but refused to assist those who expected to get work in Canterbury. He complained that men bad refused work at Ngaire Swamp or to go to the state fa m. A few of the men gave in their names as willing to go to the work offered.
