Tasmanian Fruit Conference.
[United Press Associa'.jon.] Houakt, April 35. Ino Inter-coloninl Conference of Fruityiowers now sitting at Wobart daily, is attended by delegates representing six colonles. Interesting papers bavo been read and discussed on fruit culture, transportation, distribution, preservation, codlin moth pest, and legislation affecting the fruit trade generally. Efforts are being mado to form an Australian Federal Fruit-growers' Association, having branches in each colony, with the object of interchanging information, procuring united action, and securing cnoouragmenfc from tbe various Governments on behalf of the irdustry. Ma Ju'er-colonial Fruit Show wns a great sucoess; all the co'onies exoept Western Australia were represented, and New Zealand made an exoellent display, the pomologists, Messrs Blackmore and Palmer, being roundly congratulated. Representations are being lnada to tho New Zealand Government to hold the next conference at Wellington in March. The New Zealand delegates are responding to the invitations to visit orchards here and in other oslonies, in order to obtain all possible information as to tho methods of culture and market ing.
