Women's Franchise League.
[United Press Association!. Duxedin, April 25. At a meeting of the Women's Francliise League suggestions were brought up for the federation of women's organisations, which it was Redded should be forwarded to the other bodies irl the Colony. A Women's Federal Council, it was suggested, should be formed from the delegates, the basis of representation being ono delegate for each 100 members or fraction thereof, but in no case to exceel live, the Comicil not to be hampered by political parties. Among the planks of the platform suggested is the application of the lash to offenders ngainst the chastity of women or young girls, more adequate punishment for cruelty to women and children, raising the age of consent to 18 ; inequalities in the law of divorce, and the custody of children to be remedied j equal payment to women for equal work ; establishment of old age pensions, 25 years' continuous residence in the Colony to bo the qualification, and women to become eligible live years earlier in life tlma men ; the introduction of a simple amending I3i 1 to give a majority of electors the right to say whether the liquor tratlic shall contiuue.
