Assaulting a Wife a Sivord.

At the Police Court this morning John Hicnmond Jones was charged with havine assaulted his wife with intent to do her grievous bohly harm by striking her en the neck with a {sword. [It appears that there had been some family differenc s. and Jones, drawing a sword from a scabbard, inflicted a slight wound on his wife '1 he accused then went to the Police Station and said that he had cut off his wife's head. The pol co had often been called in to setllo quarrels between (he accused and his wife. Accused was oommittsd for trial.
