CRICKET REP. TEAM.

To the Ewioa or the "Evesinq Mail." g IK —The writer of the cricket notes ("Slip") in yesterday's issue I am glad to see comes out in his true colours, but if he had inserted " Nelson cricketers," instead uf "Wanderers" he would have hit it off to a nicety. It is a well-known fact that a representative team will never be chosen while the Nelson clubs have the majority of votes. The system of choosing a representative team as at present i 8 a rotten one. "blip" says that the action of the iowlers is childish. That may be, hue the majority of cricketers, I am certain, will agree that any team that is chosen that does not include Sam Fowler is not a reproscnta Uve one. There is one question I should like to ask •' Slip.- Why was Mr LittleJohn's name left out of the team? He surely is good enough for a rep man if you iudee by performances. Intheßelgrove Club there are four who, I venture to say, cannot be beaten by any other four men belonging to any other club in Nelson, yet not one of them was mentioned. "Slip" says the Fowlers deserve a severe penalty from the Association, but snrely they can please themselves what they do. 1 hey evidently do not believe in playing with second rate cricketer*. With regard to the Wanderers trying to rule the roost I can assert that a/a Club they have not in any way interfered as to who' was to play or otherwise. I am, &c, Point.
