[Ffom our own Correspondent] SHE OROPS. - In spite of tbe heavy rains for some weeks past tbis district has been very fortunate in esoaping the floods that have done eo much damage elsewhere. While tbo Motueka river was at. its highest, a light vehicle could have been driven through the Biwaka with perfeot safety. Of course considerable damage bas . . been done to tho crops by tbe continued downpour, and some of tbe growers seem to . think their > hops are suffering. Several fanners had just cut their hay before the rain began. It is now fit for nothing but bedding.
