[Ffom our own Correspondent] SHE OROPS. - In spite of tbe heavy rains for some weeks past tbis district has been very fortunate in esoaping the floods that have done eo much „ damage elsewhere. While tbo Motueka river was at. its highest, a light vehicle could have been driven through the Biwaka with perfeot safety. Of course considerable damage bas . . been done to tho crops by tbe continued downpour, and some of tbe growers seem to . think their > hops are suffering. Several fanners had just cut their hay before the rain began. It is now fit for nothing but bedding.
