RICHMOND TOWN COUNCIL.

The ordinary montnly meeting o! the Richmond Town Oounoil waa held last night. Present : His Worship the Mayor, Crs Sheat, Fittall, Harkness, Orouoher, Papps, and Best. A letter was reoeived from ;the Stoke Road Board drawing attention k to the bad Btate of Maloolm's road, while that, of Luaty's was dear and in good order. Ellis thai the water be laid on to his house.— On the motion of Or Oroucher, seconded by CJe Sheat, it was resolved that the application of Mr Ellis be left to the Water Works Com* mittee.

'ihe Mayor then spoke a few words in reference to the road round the Bocks. He said that he had attended the meeting which waß held Iqsfi Wednesday, and had heard the proposals that the different bodies had made, The question which the Oounoil had to consider was, whether it would be advisable to join with the other bodies in contributing towards the work. On this point some dis" oußsion arose, and it was finally decided on the. motion of Or Best that the Oounoil should contribute to the preliminary expenses with reference to the survey of the road round the Books, supposing tne whole amount to be about £25.

In regard to the Agricultural Show, it wbb resolved that the matter be left in the hands of the Clerk to advertise a meeting of those interested in agriculture,

On the motion of Qt Grouoher, seconded by Or P&pps, it was resolved thai tenders be called for paring of road from Messrs Hodder & Oo.'e corner to Appleby crossing.

Amounts were passed tor pajment amounting to £42 lla Id, Waterworks interest £75.
