CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the "Evening Mail. i: Dear Sir,— la this evening's issue you report me as haying advocated a delay of six monthß in merging the Waimea fioad Board. I did say that in my opinion ib was not necessary to hurry matters unduly, and that the beßt course to adopt would be to confirm the resolutions six weeks hence (.and so give the petitioners time to object) at our ordinary meeting, a course of aotion that was subsequently adopted, Ido not wonder at the error, as the room is the mo3b difficult to make oneself heard in that I have ever entered. If you will kindly publish this you will oblige Yours &0.. W. H. Phillip3, jun.
