Pakeno. covered a mile and a balf in 2mics 46;e0?, and Plutarch and Carlyon did the oame dis ance in two seconds longer. Iloneydovv, The Queen, and Locksby bave arrived at Flemiogton to fulfil their engagements. The following horses are struck out of the Oaulfield Cvp :— Vespasian, Lord Allan, Whitefoot, Ilex, and Thunderbolt. Bravo has advanced to 8 to 1 for the Caulfield Cup, and 9 to 1 is taken about Plutarch or Spade Guinea. Speculation on the V.E.C. Derby ia very quiet, the best price obtainable beiug 5 to 2 on the field. For the Melbourne Cup Mentor is quoted at 8 to 1, and Cyclops and Malua 100 to 6. (taken),
