PRODUCE MARKET.
(Lytteltoii. Times, June 12) The broken weather of the last week has rather interfered with farming work in the preparation for seeding. Business in the grain market has also been slightly affected from the same cause. A fair volume, however, has transpired at prices which exhibit a very firm market for many of the lines Wheat. — The enquiry for all grades of wheat has continued good during the week, and quotations have risen considerably. Best Tuscan stands at 4s to 4s Id. Other descriptions range from 3s 9d to 3s lid. Little or no quantity of chick quality is Ottering. - Oats. — The demand for oats is active, «»a values have hardened. Milling are quoted at 2s 3d, and good, bright, stout feed 2s 2d to 2s 2Jd. There are buyers for all coming forward at quotations. Holders, however, in many cases decline to name a price, having faith in a further advance taking place later on. Barley. — There is not the slightest change in this cereal. The market for all grade?, both' malting and feed, is extremely sluggish. Floor — Millers have advanced the price of flour to £10 and £10 10s, according to brand. The enquiry continues good. Beans and Peas.— There is not much to notice in connection with these. The former stand at 2s lOd to Bs, and feed peas at 2s lid to 3s 2d< Prussian Blues are quoted at 3s lid to 4s. Potatoes — A few sales to execute immediate orders have been made. Prices may be quoted at 50s at country stations, but the market even yet runs very uneven. __ Grass Seed. — The {enquiry is lifeless, and little business in either rye grass or cocksfoot need be looked for at present. Daary produce— Butter is quoted at 9d to lid ; cheese, 5d to 6£d.
