At the last meeting of the Philosophical Society, Dr. Hector exhibited several samples of iron ore metallic and hematite, found by Mr A. Mackay of the geological department. The Licensing Bench have not'fied that in future three convictions will cause a man to lose his license, and that the Bench will not renew a license wnere there are two convictions within a year. Licenses will not be renewed unless all necessary requisites are reported by the police to be supplied to their satisfaction.
