RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

[Before L. Broad, Esq., R.M.] THIS DAY. George Paul was charged with being drunk. Inspector Kiely stated that the man had been arrested because persona came to the station and complained that he had threatened to commit suicide. There was no evidence of his having made any attempt to carry out the threat. He had a loaded gun in the house, and caps in his pocket. The gun was taken from him by Mr Harris. He had been drinking. Prisoner was fined 5s for being drunk, and in default 24 hours' imprisonment, his Worship remarking that the law took no notice of raere threat's to commit suicide, so ; long as there was nothing done towards,, putting the threats in execution.
