UPPER MOTUEKA ROAD BOARD.
The mouthly s meeting was held on Saturday last; All the members were present except Mr Gee. Mr William Fenetnore attended and offered to return the £5 he had received for work on the road though his land if the road were given up. Two letters were read from the Provincial Secretary concerning the island in the Motupiko river, which the Board had asked to be reserved from sale or lease, so that it might be available for a gravel pit. Resolved—That the Provincial Secretary be furnished with the particulars required. A letter was received from inhabitants in Stanley Brook protesting against closing the road through Messrs P. and C. Byrue'a sections. Resolved— That the road through Mr Needham's land, Tadmor, and through Mr W. Gibbs' land, Motupiko, be formed : also, that Sharp's cutting be lowered to a gradient of 1 in 14. Resolved— That Mr D. Kerr be informed that tbe present arrangement with him is at an end, and that he be requested to send notice to the Board i when the road is out of repair and it i will be seen to at once. Accounts were passed and paid amounting to £40 2s. Next meeting, November 11th, at 10 a.m.
