At the Kesident Magistrate's Court this morning, John Robins, and John Hogan, were fined 5s aud costs, for being drunk and incapable, last night. The Otago Daily Times of Feb. 1 has the following*: — A meeting of St. Paul's Vestry was held at the Secretary's office, Eldon Chambers, on Saturday morning. A letter was read from the Bishop of Christchurch, respecting the arrival of Bishop Jenner. A discussion ensued, and the following resolution was ultimately carried: 'The Vestry of St. Paul's having taken iuto consideration the following telegram, sent by the Primate to Mr W. C. Young: — "Bishop Jenner has come out without authority from me, nor do I purpose to give him authority to officiate in Otago aud Southland." ' — Resolved, ' That, in the opinion of this Vestry, Bishop Jenner, not being under ecclesiastical ceusure, should have authority given him to officiate ministerially (as any other visiting Bishop or clergyman would be allowed) iv any church iv this Diocese, and that with regard to St. Paul's Church the majority of the congregation would be much dissatisfied if such authority were withheld.'
