MOTHERS’ UNION
The November meeting of the Oxford branch of the Mothers’ ’ Union, at which there was a fair attendance, was held in St. Andrew’s Church on Tuesday. The vicar, the Rev. H. F. Ault, conducted the service at the church, after which he delivered an interesting address on mission work in India. The members then adjourned to tho Vicarage, when the minutes of the last meeting were read' and confirmed. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Hawke senr., Farr, A. and L. Winter, and R. C. Thompson. Votes of thanks were passed to Sister Birchell for giving so much by her readings and addresses, to Mr Ward for typing the notices, and Mrs Ronald Meyer and Misses V. Skurr and B. Bowman for serving the lunch and afternono tea on the Quiet Day. The next meeting of the Mothers’ Union will be held in January, and will take thes form of a social afternoon, after the usual opening service. The mission box, containing 15/10. was opened. Afternoon tea was handed round, and with a vote of thanks to Mr Ault for his inspiring address, the meeting closed.
