Police House

(To the Editor of The Gazette) Sir, —The Rangiora Borough Council is to be congratulated on the result of its efforts to have the old eyesore adjoining the Council Chambers removed, but it is to be hoped that it will not relax its efforts to have another house erected in its stead. Can you tell me whether the representations in this direction have yet drawn any indication of the Government’s building proposals? A house for the constable on the old site would certainly prove an advantage to thp police officers as well as to the public, and its construction would help to provide employment, as will the local Government building scheme.—Yours etc., PROGRESS RANGIORA.
