CROQUET CLUB ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the WoodendWaikuku Croquet Club was held recently at the library rooms. Mrs J. Crawford presided. The report on the year’s activities was quite satisfactory, and the balance-sheet was adopted. Last year there had been a membership of 22, and a prosperous season is again being looked forward to.
Recently the lawns have been topdressed, and are now in a good condition. It was announced that the club had affiliated with the Association.
Opening day was fixed for October 9, weather permitting. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr J. Durie; president, Mrs J. Crawford; vice-presidents, Messrs J. and G. Little, W. J. Percy, G. Gibling, and L. McQuillan; secretary, Mrs F. S. Chinnery; treasurer, Miss E. Burnett; club captain, Mrs J. C. Southen; vice-captain, Mrs C. B. Bourne; caretaker, Mr W. Coles.
