SOCIAL EVENING The View Hill Tennis Club organised a very successful social evening recently in aid of funds to repair a tennis court,the evening being spent in cards and dancing. The winners of the cards were as follows: Ladies—Mrs C. Ryde 1, Mrs R. McConnell 2. Men—Mr Bloas 1, Mr G. Rossiter 2.

During the evening a silver tea service was won by Mr 0. J. White, and a ladies’ toilet set was won by Mr J. L. Baxter (Darfield). A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Gwen Bunn and partner. Music was supplied by the Kimberley Band, with extras by Miss Methven. Mr A. Townsend was M.C.

PERSONAL Mr and Mrs 0. J. White and family, who have been spending a few days in Timaru, have gone to Blenheim before returning home. Misses White and N. Wells are leaving shortly for Christchurch, where they will attend the Girls’ Educational Course.
