PENGELLY—MILES Many friends gathered at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Kaiapoi, recently for the wedding of Edna Alice, third daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Miles, Kaiapoi, to Edgar John Francis, second son of Mr Alfred Pengelly, Belfast. The Rev. G. W. T. Hercus performed the ceremony, and Miss N. Stark was organist. A frock of kayphone crepe was worn by the bride, who was escorted by her father. The neckline of the frock was shirred, and finished with a spray of orange blossom. There were full sleeves to the wrist, with shirring, and small pearl buttons down the centreback to the waistline. The skirt formed into a long oval train. The frock was finished with a silk girdle. Her tulle veil, presented by her mother, was worn off the face, and caught by a coronet of orange blossom. Her trailing bouquet of begonias and carnations finished with a white satin bow.

Miss F. Miles, sister of the bride, and Miss H. Pengelly, sister of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaids. Miss Miles’s frock Avas of pink kayphone crepe, and Miss Pengelly’s frock Avas of green kayphone crepe. The frocks Avere made alike Avith coavl necks and short puff sleeves, Avith very full skirts, finished Avith velvet ribbons and sashes. Their trailing bouquets Avere of pink and yelloAV begonias and carnations, and they Avore picture hats of crinoline straAV to tone.

The floAA'er girl, Miss Natalie Miles, younger sister of the bride, looked very SAveet in a full length frock of lemon kayphone crepe, Avith tAvo frills at the bottom and frilled yoke and puffed sleeves. She Avore a Miss Muffet bonnet and carried a lemon muff.

Mr Ernest Miles Avas best man, and Mr J. Teague best man. The guests Avere received at the Foresters’ Hall by the bride’s mother, Avho Avore a navy blue ensemble and naA’V straAV hat trimmed Avith navy and red ribbon fastened Avith a small red rose. She carried a bouquet of red roses. The bridegroom’s step-mother Avore a navy ensemble and a black hat toned Avith Avhite floAVers. Her bouquet Avas of red roses and dahlias. For traArelling the bride Avore a navy tailored costume Avith a faAvn lace blouse and a navy velour hat. She Avore navy kid shoes and gloves and carried a navy purse.
