MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

Sitting at Kaiapoi. The Magistrate’s Court sat at Kaiapo’i on the 10th August, Mr. E. D Mosley, S.M./on the Bench. Traffic Offences. Allan Shaw was charged with riding a motor cycle with no lights and without a license. He was fined 5/- without costs for having no lights and 10/and costs 10/- for not having a license. A. Bond was charged with driving a motor car without being the bolder of a driver’s license. He was fined 51and costs 10/-. L. Carpenter was charged by the Traffic Inspector with riding a motor cycle without a license. He was fined 51- and costs 17/-. G. H, Edmonds appeared on a charge of driving at a speed dangerous to the public. He pleaded guilty to travelling at 35 miles an hour, but said that the Traffic Inspector had over estimated his pace. He was fined £2 and costs. Jean C. Gibbs, who appeared on a charge of driving a motor car without being the holder of a driver’s license, said that the car had not been used for several weeks, and that she had a license in previous years. She was fined 51- and costs 12/-. John L. Serpen, for driving a motor cycle without a license, was fined 5/and costs 15/-. Cyrus J. R. Williams appeared on a charge of driving a. motor car at a speed dangerous to the public. The Traffic Inspector stated that defendant was travelling at 35 miles per hour and did not deny the speed at the time he was accosted. He was fined £2, and costs Maintenance. Hori Turia was charged with the disobedience of a maintenance order. Defendant did not appear, but counsel stated that he had been out of employment since May 1932, and that the arrears were £6/2/2. Defendant was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment.
