Sanders Cup Amethyst’ Heads Auckland Totals
AUCKLAND. Mon. (Sp.L—By finishing second in the fifth trial and first in the sixth, Amethyst headed the points aggregates of contenders for the Auckland Sanders Cup representative and will probably defend the trophy in the contest which starts on January 23. Bluebell won the fifth trial by 19sccs from Amethyst with Miss X. Charm and Desire next. Bluebell needed to be in the first
three in the sixth race to top the aggregates, but sailed rather poorly and finished fourth. Amethyst beat Desire by ssecs with Miss X third.
