Earthquakes In Tierra del Fuego
BUENOS AIRES.—A series of strong earthquakes rocked Tierra del Fuego, the islands lying south of Magellan Strait, today. Walls tumbled in the Chilean city of Punta Arenas and minor damage was caused at Ushuaia, capital of the Argentine portion of the main island. No casualties were reported from either centre. Navarino Island was believed to have been the epicentre. There is a small settlement on the island, from which no report has been received. The strongest shock upset the seismograph needles at the Argentine air force meteorological station in Buenos Aires.
