' WELLINGTON, Wed. (P.A.)—"Receive the Holy Ghost.” Saying these words and imposing bis hands on the head of the Bishopelect, the Coadjutor Archbishop of Wellington (the Most Rev. P. T, 3. McKeefry) at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Wellington, this morning, conferred the episcopal dignity and character on Dr John Patrick Kavanagh, DCL, the fifth New Zealand-born priest to be raised to the hierarchy of the Rqman Catholic Church, The new bishop, who is now Coadjutor Bishop of Dunedin and Titular Bishop of Algiza, succeeds the Most Rev. H. J. O’Neill, Titular Bishop of Bareta, who recently resigned his office because of ill-health.
