Shilling In Boy's Throat
A Whangarei boy was rushed to receive medical attention when he accidentally swallowed a shilling, which caught in his throat, this afternoon.
He was Brian Lindsay, aged about J 1 years, the son of Contable H. S. Lindsay, of 4 Russell Road, Whangarei.
He was at the Northern Advocate office when he put the coin in his mouth in order to free both hands, to enable him to lower a board. The board fell and the shilling slipped halfway down his throat. After receiving medical attention, he managed to swallow the coin completely. The boy did not sutler any apparent ill-effects and it is hoped that it will be only a matter of time before his novel method of saving money pays dividends.
