Christian Democrat Enters Field
TIMARU, Fri. (P.A.)-The Rev. C. R. Allen, a blind Church of England clergyman, will contest the Timaru seat at the general election as a Christian Democrat. ' A resident of Dunedin, Mr Allen is a son of Sir James Allen, Minister of Defence in the Massey Government.
Mr Allen said he had not been actively connected with church work since 1927, but was prepared to contest the election on Christian principles . The other candidates are Mr C. Carr (Labour), sitting member, and Mr J. F. Lockington (National). -
