Postponement' Of Training
WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.)— Details of the establishment of military training postponement committees have been forwarded by the Minister of Employment (Mr McLagan) to the parties concerned and have been received by trade unions from the Federation of Labour. Committees will be set up in the four main cities and the larger provincial centres and will deal with applications for postponement of service by 18-year-old youths under the Military Training Act. Each committee, says the Minister, will consist of a chairman and two members, one representing employing interests and the other representing workers’ organisations. Nominations are to be submitted to the Minister before November 15. and it has been staled that nominees should be exservicemen.
