Mrs Seyb, Mrs Treen Qualify In Auckland

AUCKLAND, Wed. (Sp.).—Mrs B. Seyb (Whangarei) and Mrs C. Treen (Okaihau) distinguished themselves in the two qualifying rounds of le Auckland ladies’ provincial golf championship at Maungakiekie yesterday. Mrs Seyb, holder of the course record at Ml Denby, qualified third four strokes behind Mrs G. W. Hollis and three strokes behind Miss R. C. Hodges, recent winner of the Northland title.

Mrs Seyb had the best round in the morning, returning an 82. Mrs ,Treen qualified 10th and had the best net score in the morning round. She won the first division morning medal with a card of 85—12 —73. Miss M. Hughes, the Titirangi champion. was a notable absentee from the tournament. Scoring generally was high. This was due chiefly to varying lies on the fairways, the extensive greens, a strong wind and a glaring light. MRS HOLLIS AHEAD. Mrs Hollis topped the qualifiers, despite a seven at the 135 yd bogey three ninth hole in the afternoon.
