U S. Military Govt. Ending
BERLIN, Thu. (11 a.m.)—lt is officially announced that the United States Military Government would cease in Germany from November 15. The form of the occupation will be decided solely by the State Department and Mr McCloy, as High Commissioner. For the first time m their present series of talks aimed at normalising life in Berlin, the four Allied commandants reached agreement on a point at their meeting this afternoon. The Soviet commandant (Major General Kotikov) agreed in principle to a British proposal that each half of the city should recognise the stamps of the other half. Hitherto any mail posted from the ■Western sector to the Eastern had to be paid for twice, once in Westmarks and again in Eastmarks.
