Whole Town Attended Wedding
MELBOURNE.—AII the residents • of Walhalia —the 150 of them—attended a recent wedding, the first celebrated there for more than 15 years. Walhalia, 106 miles from Melbourne, Victoria, was the, scene of a gold rush late last century, and more than £A 10,000.000 worth of gold was won. As gold production dwindled, so did the population, and Walhalia became a “ghost town.” Walhalia hopes for a revival through the tourist industry and timber. Residents said they considered the return of romance as a good omen.—Reuters.
