Woodcock-Savold Fight Postponed
LONDON, Fri. (I p.m.)—The world heavyweight title fight between Bruce Woodcock and Lee Savold, scheduled for September 6 has been postponed. The new date for the fight will be announced on Monday when Woodcock will be discharged from Doncaster Hospital where he was admitted after a truck accident yesterday. Promoter Jack Solomons said it may only be necessary to postpone the fight for two weeks. Jake Lamotta will defend his world middle-weight title against Marcel Cerdan, of France, on September 28, in New York.
Lamotta won the championship from Cerdan on a knock-out on June 16 at Detroit.
