Wnr Memorial Deferred
AUCKLAND, Sat. (Sp.).— A decision to defer construction of a war memorial at Avondale has been made by the Auckland City Council as a permit could not be obtained from the building controller to use scwt of steel and 4J tons of cement. The area known as St Ninian's Corner was offered to the council on the condition that the memorial would be built before January, 1950.
