Change In Wairoa Shield Team
One change has been made in the Northern Wairoa team to play Whangarei at Dargaville tomorrow in the south-zone final of the Harding Shield competition. J. Burke is not available and his place at centre has been taken by L. Dowling, who was originally chosen as an emergency. The game, which starts at 1 o’clock, is creating traditional enthusiasm. Many Whangarei supporters are travelling to Dargavillle for the match. The winner of this match meets the winner of the Bay of Islands-Mango-nui challenge match to be played on August 20. The final game takes place on August 27. A fifth-grade game between Whangarei Boys’ High School and Dargaville District High School will be the cur-tain-raiser tomorrow. Otamatea plays Rodney and South Hokianga plays North Hokianga to complete the zone fixtures. Bay of Islands junior reps defend the Brake Shield against Otamatea at Moerewa.
